Kanakasingam Suganthon founded the edible oil trading business in 2001 and has led its development into refining, manufacturing and the supply of bakery ingredients.

With more than two decades of hands-on experience in the edible oil industry, he brings knowledge of production processes and market requirements to the company’s direction. His connection to Jaffna has shaped the development of the manufacturing facility in Northern Sri Lanka.

His approach emphasises product quality, local resources and sustainable operations, including green energy. He has received an honorary doctorate from UK Digital University and industry recognition in 2025. The Asia Miracle and SLCBC awards are presented in more detail on the Our Story page.

Rizvi Mowlana brings more than four decades of experience in sales, marketing, fast-moving consumer goods and food packaging. He joined Venkadeshwara in 2025.

His previous leadership roles include National Sales Manager at Lee Hedges PLC and Chief Operating Officer at Diamond Best Foods. He also serves as a Director of Maharaja Foods PLC.

His experience spans marketing strategy, brand development and operational management. At Venkadeshwara, this background supports the company’s sales and marketing direction and its relationships across food industry markets.

Mailvaganam Jananayakam is an engineering professional with international experience in mechanical engineering, industrial projects, design and planning.

He holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya, and a master’s degree in International Trade and Commerce Law from Macquarie University, Sydney. He is a Chartered Engineer with memberships of the Institute of Production Engineers, London, and the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.

His career includes the National Iranian Oil Company, a major aluminium smelter upgrade in New Zealand, Lanka Cement Limited, Samuel Sons Limited and Indo Stainless Fabtech. At Venkadeshwara, he contributes technical and project experience to the development of the company’s operations.

Mehattar Lal Chouhan brings hands-on experience in oil refinery operations, having begun his career as a Senior Operator in 2003.

He started at Raigarh Solvent Extraction in Chhattisgarh and subsequently held roles at Mandal Adibal Oil Industries, Shri Raja Rajeshwari Industries, Gaytari Egrow Industries, Adani Wilmar and Shri Rama Oil Industries. He has also worked at Shri Krishna Solvent in Raigarh from 2019.

At Venkadeshwara, he contributes practical refining knowledge, technical experience and production leadership to the edible oil production team.

Chandrasekar Manikandan oversees engineering across the refinery, solvent extraction and margarine divisions, drawing on a career in food processing that began in 1996.

He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honours. He began as a Technician at Bunge India and progressed to Plant Engineer and subsequently Area Champion of the Margarine Plant.

His experience in mechanical engineering and margarine manufacturing supports the company’s plant operations, with an emphasis on quality, continuous improvement and reliable production.

Varatharasaperumal Lagukumar has more than a decade of experience at Venkadeshwara, with responsibility for refinery operations and production coordination.

His work covers RBD palm olein, RBD rice bran oil and RBD coconut oil production. He oversees production scheduling, team management, quality assurance and safety compliance.

His work includes efforts to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime and manage costs. This operational experience supports the coordination of people, processes and daily factory requirements.

Nithiyanantham Anushan brings more than ten years of procurement experience across trading, manufacturing and service businesses.

His experience includes procurement planning, imports and exports, and timely sourcing to support production. He has completed the Intermediate Level of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

His analytical, budgeting and cost management background helps connect sourcing decisions with the company’s operational requirements and business priorities.

S. K. Vivekanand brings more than thirty years of marketing experience in the edible oil and fats industry to the company’s bakery fat sales activities.

He is partly qualified through the Chartered Institute of Marketing. His career includes Sales Manager at Tasty (Pvt) Ltd, Field Sales Manager at Marina Foods and Assistant Sales Manager for the Kaptura brand at Naracocoland (Pvt) Ltd.

He has also served as Regional Sales Manager for the Northern, Eastern and North Central regions at Suwadeshi (Pvt) Ltd. His experience supports customer relationships and sales development for Venkadeshwara’s bakery fat range.

Naveen Wijesekara brings experience in financial management, auditing and data analysis, including tax administration and finance system implementation.

His career includes Senior Audit Associate, Accounts Executive and Accountant roles across audit, commercial and industrial organisations. He has worked with SAP and QuickBooks and managed core financial operations.

Educated at Mahanama College, his published profile records ongoing Corporate Level studies at CA Sri Lanka. His technical and analytical background supports financial management and reporting at Venkadeshwara.

Piravina Kulendrarajah combines accounting and human resource coordination, with experience in financial records, payroll and reporting.

She holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy. Her published profile records ongoing MBA studies at the University of Jaffna, alongside previous experience at the Ceylon Electricity Board and as an Accounts Executive.

Her skills include Tally ERP and Microsoft Office. At Venkadeshwara, she supports accounting transactions, financial reporting and HR coordination.

Arulanantharasa Nirushan brings experience as a Quality Assurance Chemist and Microbiologist, with a focus on food safety, testing and quality control.

He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biotechnology from SLIIT, with a background in bio-processing, food technology, industrial technology and quality management. His published profile records experience with BRC, ISO, GMP, HACCP and Halal standards and certification processes.

He contributes microbiological testing expertise and quality assurance leadership to support product quality, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
